REFORMS, REDEMPTION and FDI :Strategic Stance of a Silent Lamb.

"Its not that a silent lamb can't speak, rather it shouldn't speak."
Days before when our prime minister rose to rostrum to mention his connect to "aam aadmi" , for people of my age group it was an event of historical mention. It was like a serendipitous discovery of an extinct specie .It was like a silent lamb breaking the silence of valley. It was like a professor with an explanation ,unnoticed since years. Moreover It was some thing different from the monotonic podium generally marked by Indigenous saree covering Italian flesh.

1.Speech with a difference:Speech was loyal, written in plain text layman's language ,tainted with political protectionism and talking about slashing of economic protectionism in retail sector. It was not like the budget speech by the finance minister (1991).
It was like an appeal lined with leniency ,a promise questionable.
"My dear brothers and sisters,
The UPA government is a government of aam aadmi."

In the same context ,the 1991 speech(some times considered as the most knocking  speech after tryst with destiny) was a masterpiece ,a mark of independently worked script.
"Sir, I do not minimise the difficulties...... But as Victor Hugo once said, “no
power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come.” ......... Let the whole world hear it loud and clear. India is now wide awake. We shall prevail. We shall overcome."

2.Diesel dictum:As the prime minister continues "we raised the price of diesel by just Rs 5 per litre instead of Rs 17 that was needed.....much of the diesel is used by big cars and SUVs....should the government run large fiscal deficit to subsidise them?
Considering self sufficiency in agriculture the most of the diesel is used in tractors and pumping machineries .A price hike in Diesel strikes those aam aadmi who are the major owners of tractors will distribute this hike on their customer (aamer aadmi :the lower middle class farmer).Considering 72% Indian population in 638000 villages this Diesel dictum is going to be a big deal, an albatross around their neck for the aam ,aamer ,aamest aadmi of the country.A country like India can never rely and be represented by scooter and motorcycle driving ,office going tie holders.
As the prime minister said "we reduced taxes on petrol by  Rs 5 per liter.....so that middle class who drive scooters and motorcycles are not hit..."

3.FDI and gas subsidies I believe should be considered as an inevitable step. When an economy like India is under the scan of survive or perish , a step of this sort ,may be risky and edgy in some senses ,yet they are required.Instead of criticism I believe we should cooperate,Instead of clamour we should debate and discuss,Instead of gherao we should learn to march in cooperation with the rest of the world.

Hope for the best.Lets ring the bell.Remember the goldman sachs' prophecy that India is to be the third largest economy by 2035 just after USA and     China .
If winter is there can spring be far away................

On a softer note:
Last year on 27th July 2011 our the then finance minister Mr.Manmohan Singh's LPG model celebrated its 20th birthday.LPG model was ,is and will continue. What matters the most is its stand for_____________.
Pro 1991 it was License Permit Government Raj,
post 1992 it was Liberalization Privatization and Globalization,
and 20 yrs on it is Loot Plunder Goonda Raj.
Hope this redemption let Mr. prime minister to bury all clamours, to bury all coalgates,to bury all defamation to the past and unsung memories.

KERALA TOURISM :DAY 2 and ALLEPPEY BACKWATERS

May be because " It's always our self we find in the sea.”   or may be because the strong analogy water hold with life as it goes on irrespective of whatever it dissolves ...or may be the inductive serenity , You never get tired of water . “It is life, I think, to watch the water. A man can learn so many things.”  ―  Nicholas Sparks ,  The Notebook Comfort ,freedom, an aura of redemption and the sunny rays reflecting back from waves ,kissing my cheeks and knowingly or unknowingly melting the sun cream ...I have never expected more than this from nature . The day with Alappuzha/Alleppey was precisely a floating day  :Six good hours of boating across Alleppey backwaters . And it all began like this    The panoramic view of back waters taken from boat    Coconut trees have its own charm."And the kerala coconut beer is a must try, its sumptuous in taste and cheaper than kingfisher "said one resident. Anyway it w...

KERALA TOURISM : namkeen paani and day 1

Before I start putting the glances of god’s own country as they say ,that train journey extended over  the span of 48 hours deserves a firm mention . The worst part of story was : no pantry car ,that simply means food was an issue and was like a setback to foodie people .People were racing between the halt time of train bringing something and something as its good to have something than nothing .And the best part of the story was : Chinua Acheyba . I was rushing through his cult classic magnum opus “ things fall apart ” till end of the journey before I completed it . And when ever I passed by a lingering line ,it was a time to take a break and discuss. "When the moon is shining the cripple becomes hungry for a walk." Anyway the breaks  were variably filled by playing cards, sleeping and of course arguments. Prolixity has never been alien to this country . You just need t...
