"to be or not to be " of BS/EVS 4 hour class

Scenario is that every wednesday the continuous four hours are boring ",some people say...irresistible some people say.I have even heard remarks like depressive and life threatening from the so called attendance philic block of the batch.
yes, I am talking about the four hour slot of basic science and environmental science.
Today afternoon when almost half of the institute was chattering keyboard ,struggling with chat box dilemma of what to say what not to say, hitting angry birds,or surfing dc++(an incampus facilityDC++ is a free and open-source alternative to the original client, NeoModus Direct Connect (NMDC); it connects to the same file-sharing network and supports the same file-sharing protocol. One of the reasons commonly attributed to the aforementioned popularity of DC++ is that it has no adware of any kind, unlike NMDC.),I was the one absorbed in the class room .I was just trying to trace out some proposal to paint the scenario with a bit indolent brush.

The basic objective behind the proposal is quite simple .

  1. to enhance the turn out.(attendance)
  2. to enhance interest of students in the subject
  3. to reduce the probability of depression threat to the students regular to class
  4. to reduce probability of tension threat to the students not coming to class.
well before I proceed I have a general question.why this course is being taken so extensively through class room?
better we should make a negotiation that give us syllabus, slides and required pdf files and mail us the examination time and venue. Its so simple and i hope no one will disagree. If some one feels that people who will fail in the course may file a letter of disagreement, its not so.Because people who fail in this course(if any) belong to the block which has pre assumed this negotiation since the initiation of this course. And to be precise no one fails in this course.

so the next general question is why is this negotiation not possible? The versatile reasons may be

1.the orthodox ethics behind teacher-student relationship does not allow this negotiation.

2.If it happens ,the whatever responsibility of teacher to develop the knowledge of course concerned in the student, will die legally and dry out logically.hence there will be no question of teacher's answerability. And hence teacher's leniency towards grading in this subject will shatter.

3.It will further lead to requirement of amendment in the institute's constitution, to which all have to abide by.

4.there are people who believe in cross cutting mentality.I mean, they feel that they can out class their sisters having equal intelligencia and workaholicism only and only through the attendance filter(given that attendance matters almost 10% of total). So there is a chance that this sub block will try not to agree with the negotiation.

so we should come out with some proposal outline to meet the objectives, provided that this system is not going to be changed.

so what should be a precise proposed model?
  1. A six minute break after every half an hour:The course content is not so vast.and every day the biological science class gets over 20 minutes before time.So this break is quite affordable, and inturn will prove to be a power gap.
  2. the course material need to be presented in some what interesting manner.Even inclusion of some slides containing rajnikant jokes will work.
  3. Inclusion of mutual quizzing:this may turn out to be a spleldid idea to keep the interest sizzling.the last half hour of the class or may be 20 minutes should be devoted to this.this will ensure a right to every one in the left block of class room to put question to the right block and vice versa. The question must be the subset of the content taught that day.so the students will keep them selves busy in framing silent question through out the period. Thus an ethical competition between two blocks to prove their cleverness can be capitalized to ensure an appreciative rise in interest, and this will further cut short the induced boredum.
  4. well we can also think of some analogic idea of cheer leading. But putting that idea will make me male chauvinist, politically speaking i avoid to be that.
There is a thin line difference between "taking class and attending class" .this difference gets noticed when i write the phrase "taking examination and attending examination".Sooner we avoid this gap ,better it is to us, to all and to every brick dedicated to the service of the nation<pun intended>.

KERALA TOURISM :DAY 2 and ALLEPPEY BACKWATERS

May be because " It's always our self we find in the sea.”   or may be because the strong analogy water hold with life as it goes on irrespective of whatever it dissolves ...or may be the inductive serenity , You never get tired of water . “It is life, I think, to watch the water. A man can learn so many things.”  ―  Nicholas Sparks ,  The Notebook Comfort ,freedom, an aura of redemption and the sunny rays reflecting back from waves ,kissing my cheeks and knowingly or unknowingly melting the sun cream ...I have never expected more than this from nature . The day with Alappuzha/Alleppey was precisely a floating day  :Six good hours of boating across Alleppey backwaters . And it all began like this    The panoramic view of back waters taken from boat    Coconut trees have its own charm."And the kerala coconut beer is a must try, its sumptuous in taste and cheaper than kingfisher "said one resident. KERALA TOURISM : namkeen paani and day 1

Before I start putting the glances of god’s own country as they say ,that train journey extended over  the span of 48 hours deserves a firm mention . The worst part of story was : no pantry car ,that simply means food was an issue and was like a setback to foodie people .People were racing between the halt time of train bringing something and something as its good to have something than nothing .And the best part of the story was : Chinua Acheyba . I was rushing through his cult classic magnum opus “ things fall apart ” till end of the journey before I completed it . And when ever I passed by a lingering line ,it was a time to take a break and discuss. "When the moon is shining the cripple becomes hungry for a walk." Anyway the breaks  were variably filled by playing cards, sleeping and of course arguments. Prolixity has never been alien to this country . You just need t...
